The Oscars….. suckage
Cats: Review|Well last night was the Oscars event. I sat down with my fiance to watch Ryan Seacrest do his thing on the red carpet.
Probably the funniest part of that whole show was crazy man Gary Busey coming up and accosting Seacrest. I thought they were going to have to call in security but Seacrest handled it well.
We checked out the red carpet show and saw all the pregnant stars and whatnot. Checked out all the fashionista celebrities. Our best choice of the night was probably Katherine Heigl, she looked really classy in that red dress and with that hair. She was for a lack of a better word, stunning.
Now as for the Oscar show itself…. I was pretty let down. I went to the movies quit a bit last year however not one of the movies I went to see was nominated for anything. Cept for Transformers which they gave a nomination for animation or some other stuff. All the awards went to movies like Juno, Atonement, Country for old men etc….. except for maybe Juno. My Fiance and I didn’t have any interest in seeing any of those movies. We saw stuff like Transformers and Stardust. Which btw I’m shocked that Stardust didn’t receive any nominations or mention of any sort.
It seems that the Oscars are a bit stuffy and don’t take Sci-Fi and Fantasy movies very seriously. Which IMO is a tragedy. While I do agree that alot of sci-fi and fantasy movies aren’t worthy of awards. There are a few that should be awarded because they are so damn awesome. Stardust is one of those that should of won a few awards.
Oh well. In any case it was good to see the old guard out in their finest. Ford, Nicholson, Hanks, Kidman, Jones all them guys still look good for their age. And it was good to see them out. Stewarts funniest moment was when he accused that one guy of being so arrogant. lol. And also kinda funny was when he anounced that the 707 jet was going to be towed and John Trovolta ran on stage to get his key.
All in all it was ok. My only peeve is that more sci-fi and fantasy movies need to be in there.
